Discovery Day - Marine Discovery

Get ready for a day of “Hands-on, Feet-wet” fun.  We will join the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach for a day of coastal nature-based education.  Helping our students become stewards of the natural world is essential in these ever changing times!  Participants will meet at their site in New Smyrna beach.  After a short introduction, we will board a boat and set off to a nearby island where we will explore and learn about a coastal habitat including its importance and threats to coastal areas.  Educators will have a chance to use seine nets!  Note that as we will be hands-on and our feet will get wet, you will need to bring close toed shoes and clothing that can get wet.  After our two hour coastal exploration, we will return for a (on your own) lunch break.  The afternoon activity will center around a site walk and a…
