Meet Diane! An enthusiastic River City Science Academy middle school science teacher and proud military spouse who’s been captivated by nature since childhood.

With a biology degree from Georgia Gwinnett College and nearly six years of teaching experience, she loves inspiring students to explore the world around them.

Excited to learn about coral reef restoration, she hopes to create hands-on projects that help her students discover how they can protect these vital ecosystems-and maybe even explore other restoration efforts across the globe.

⭐️Leading Light gathering this Saturday!

LOCATION: The Enchanted Forest Preserve in Titusville located at…

444 Columbia Blvd,
Titusville FL 32780

It will run from 10am to 2pm. You do not have to be there the entire time.

We will meet outside of the Nature Center at 10am and begin our Goosechase scavenger hunt around 10:20am.

We will have time to explore the preserve and will meet up for a picnic (bring your own) lunch at noon at the preserve.

Everyone participating will need to download the Goosechase app.

Once they do that, they will search for the following ... “Enchanted Forest Leading Light”.

They will see an image with our name on it. Click on that and join the experience as an individual.

To join the hunt, they will need to enter the code “AEMLLEF”.

They will need to take photos for each of the missions that have a “camera” by them.

They will write an answer for the missions that have a blue “script”.

They will connect a gps location to the pink pin missions.

It is live now, so you should be able to log into the app and see it if you follow the above directions.

Following the summer retreat, AEM Ambassador Lynn McClish a Marine Science teacher at Freedom High School collaborates with UCF on projects such as monitoring mangrove growth and organizing “Glow Games” for ocean zone learning. Lynn’s class is so engaged with her lessons that they collaboratively care for a 300 gallon saltwater aquarium. Her future plans involve utilizing coral fragments from the Coral Restoration Foundation to explore marine ecosystem connections.
