A warm hello to the educator community from Authentic Exploration Matters(AEM). We are looking forward to this weekends Discovery Day workshop that will be held in collaboration with the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach. Attendees will get the hands-dirty and feet-wet as we learn about conserving the coastal habitats within the Indian River Lagoon. Coming up we will be having a Leading Light gathering on Sunday, November 10 at The Acre! The Leading Light meet-ups are a chance for educators to unwind, connect, and meet other educators. The November Leading Light will be a casual afternoon meet-up with a fun book exchange! The idea is to bring a wrapped book. We love the idea of brining a used copy of a book you enjoyed, but you are welcome to bring new as well. Just wrap it up and add a flair if you like - a highlighter, tea bag, cocoa packet, stickies - have fun. You are also welcome to bring along your family. This is genuinely a time to uplift and connect the amazing educators that make up our communities. You can find more information on the attached flyer below.
This weeks Resource Roundup addresses ways to incorporate a myriad of topics within the realm of agriculture. This includes animal science, plant science, food science, technology, agribusiness, and more. Elementary kids can become detectives in “The Case of the Missing Pumpkin”. Middle School youth can learn about daily ranch life and uncover misconceptions around farming. High school students can explore NIFA’s “Agriculture in the Classroom” and join scientists for research service. Then look into ways you can incorporate agriculture in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Grow a future of agriculturally minded citizens! Looking for resources on a different topic? Simply reach out to our team and we will see how we can help you.
