AEM Archaeology Resource Roundup

This week we are focusing the Resource Roundup on the field of archaeology.  Archaeological study and research have been shown to enhance students’ appreciation for other cultures.  Archaeology is defined as the scientific study of nonrenewable and often fragile remains of past human activity.  This process includes excavating on land and under water to uncover evidence with which to reconstruct and describe bygone culture, technology, and behavior(University of Arkansas).  Including archeology in classrooms can be en effective tool as it is interdisciplinary.  It can provide enhanced critical thinking skills, problem solving, citizenship, and cooperative learning.  Explore activity packs, lessons, dig in to the “Aztec Code”, participate in a mini-dig, take a virtual field trip to Corinth, uncover art and archaeology, and more!
