Back to school time is here for some teachers and right around the corner for others. The team at Authentic Exploration Matters(AEM) is hoping you had a chance to recharge, rest, and enjoy the summer.
We continue to promote our Discovery Day on August 24 with ORCA(Ocean Research and Conservation Association) in Vero Beach. It is an amazing opportunity to connect with ways to enhance data collection and unique ways to analyze data in relation to a Florida based topic. You can register for this FREE Discovery Day on our website at: https://www.authenticexplorationmatters.com/discovery-day . Specific details on the day will be sent out to registered participants the week of the event.
We will also be hosting another Discovery Day in October with the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach in October and information on that opportunity can also be accessed on our website.
This week the Resource Roundup will be highlighting the topic of Green Schools and Beyond. Connecting students, school wide communities, and beyond allows people to explore environmental issues as they engage in problem solving and collaborative actions that can be key to taking actions that can improve our environment. Sustainability/“Green” education can help students develop integral skills that can help them become informed decision makers, empowered change makers, and community members that learn how to collaborate to create a more sustainable planet for all life. Students gain knowledge that helps them create stronger links to current topics. Check out how Green Strides has curated an online databased of tools to “Green Your School”. Explore the many resources offered via Subject to Climate. Link with Stop Waste to uncover ways to reduce waste at school and home.
