Welcome fall and October! The team at Authentic Exploration Matters would like to send our positive thoughts to those impacted by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. With the season of Autumn officially here, AEM is starting off this months edition of the Resource Roundup focusing on ways to integrate the four seasons into the world of STEAM. Students can learn to connect data sets to the seasons of the year, become citizen scientists, investigate how the Earth’s tilt impacts the weather, join Space Lab and their technology database, build a backyard weather station, and more! You will notice a slightly new format to the Resource Roundup as well. The first page will begin with an educator, school, or organization highlight as ell as resources on the featured topic that are aimed at elementary, middle, or high school grade levels. Note that many offer resources for K-12 as well! The second page of the Resource Roundup will then focus on how the featured topic relates to each aspect of STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
Other topics we will explore this month include transportation, agriculture, immersive reality, and empathy. Each topic will be linked to an aspect of STEAM!
This Sunday is also the last day to register for our upcoming October 19, 2024 Discovery Day with the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach. We have just a few spots left! Teachers and one student are welcome. This is a great opportunity for an eco club or Green Schools program! You can register on our website at: https://www.authenticexplorationmatters.com/discovery-day. As always, we are here to support and elevate the educator community. Is your school looking to host a grade level or subject level team building day or education experience? We can help with that! Are you looking for resources, activities, or experiences aligning with a specific subject? We can help with that too! Simply reach out with your request and we will do our best to help you.
