Greeting educators! I am sure the countdown to the winter break has begun for each of you! Over the next three Thursday’s, the Resource Roundup will feature links to topics including urbanization, the Blue economy, and traditions. Please remember that if you need any resources on a specific topic, you are welcome to reach out to me and I will see what I can find for you. The team at AEM has been busy. We participated in a community eco event the weekend before Thanksgiving and were delighted with the turnout! We have also taught a lesson on coral reef basics during which students created edible coral polyps. This week, we will return to the same school and the group will create their own clay coral reef! Next week we will feature some of our AEM Educator Ambassadors and updates on what they have been doing to engage their students in the world of STEAM. We wish you all the best and look forward to helping inspire and connect the educator community in the coming year!
This weeks Resource Roundup focuses on urbanization. Educating youth on urbanization throughout the past, present, and future is crucial as the global community strives to create a more sustainable society for all life. It also helps students gain a better understanding of the connections urban growth has to the environment, social, cultural, economic, and demographic processes. You can access the .pdf file in one of three ways. Whichever way you do access it, you will be able to connect to the resource site by clicking on the circle image next to the description.
